US News & World Report ^ | November 12, 2014 | By Ross Williams

President Barack Obama should use his executive power to order immigration reform despite Republican threats, House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer said Wednesday.

"I join with my colleagues in urging the president to take action," he said, "And I urge my Republican friends to understand that that action would be temporary and can be replaced with a bill that we pass through the Congress of the United States."

Republicans have responded to Obama's plans with intense metaphors.

“And I urge my Republican friends to understand that that action would be temporary and can be replaced with a bill that we pass through the Congress of the United States.”

******

And I, in turn, urge President Obama to seriously think twice about signing such a traitorous order, because all hell will break loose across the United States as soon as he signs such a terrible executive order, and because Obama, his wife, and two daughters will be condemned and jeered the rest of their lives for the traitorous 2014 immigration executive order of this terrible president Obama.

Defund whatever the pos commie passes by executive order. After the handover in January, begin impeachment proceedings, and carry it through to trying and convicting him.

100% correct.

It’s too late once the ONE has illegally legalized million of illegals - including criminal illegals. This pig knows it.

States must move against this. Better to do so now then after the fact.

Dirty little secret of this is that US immigration agencies' systems aren't up to the task of processing millions of new applicants.

We're looking straight at another Healthcare.gov debacle, for anyone paying attention.

The usurpation of the Constitution is “only” temporary.

You can “fix” it with a “legal” bill and right the wrongs of an unlawful act.

I am really thinking of hating the GOP, to the point, I only support candidates outside their jacked system and weak kneed ideology.

Stand the F up to the Present and quash his actions.

Steny Hoyer said.."I join with my colleagues in urging the president to take action," he said, "And I urge my Republican friends to understand that that "action would be temporary and can be replaced" with a bill that we pass through the Congress of the United States."

I do not think that Steny knows enough to say that action would be temporary and can be replaced. It sounds like the soothing words said to get original passage votes from the scores of former colleagues who were replaced by Republicans. It is the usual babble and promises that Steny does not have the power to keep.

Do we have too many lawyers in congress? There is no crisis and no urgency except to stop the influx of illegal immigrants across the border that his party promised to stop in 1988.

He hasn’t the authority to abrogate enforcement under the law either.

Nothing Obama can do can legalize illegals. All he can do is order law enforcement to not do anything about any illegals they come across.

Are you joking? Obama has already legalized 580,000 thru his 2012 DACA Dreamer amnesty including issuing them work permits, and eligibility for SSNs. They were issued the ID cards below:

"As part of applying for DACA, you will apply for an EAD using Forms I 765 and I 765WS. After the government approves your application, you will be issued an EAD card that looks similar to this:"

Obama will legalize millions in just the same way.

"Where exactly in the Constitution is this found??"

I think that a president’s power to pardon illegal immigrants is based on politically correct interpretations of the Constitution’s Clause 1 of Section 2 of Article II. Here’s the key wording from that clause.

”… and he shall have Power to grant Reprieves and Pardons for Offences against the United States [emphasis added], …"

Noting that delegates to the Constitutional Convention used the term “United States” in that document many times as a reference to the federal government, not the state governments, please consider the following.

The president’s power to pardon offense against the United States is not independent of Congress as many people seem to think imo. This is because Congress must first legislatively define what an illegal immigrant is before a president can pardon those who violate Congress’s definitions of it. But regardless that Congress has made such laws, there is a MAJOR constitutional problem with all federal immigration laws imo.

Politically correct interpretations of the Constituton’s Uniform Rule of Naturalization Clause aside, such interpretations wrongly used to justify federal immigration laws, please consider the following. Thomas Jefferson had noted, in terms of the now wrongly ignored 10th Amendment nonetheless, that the Founding States never delegated to the feds, expressly via the Constitution, the specific power to regulate immigration.

“4. _Resolved_, That alien friends are under the jurisdiction and protection of the laws of the State wherein they are: that no power over them has been delegated to the United States, nor prohibited to the individual States, distinct from their power over citizens. And it being true as a general principle, and one of the amendments to the Constitution having also declared, that “the powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people,” the act of the Congress of the United States, passed on the — day of July, 1798, intituled “An Act concerning aliens,” which assumes powers over alien friends, not delegated by the Constitution, is not law, but is altogether void, and of no force [emphasis added].” —Thomas Jefferson, Draft of the Kentucky Resolutions - October 1798.

The consequence of the states never granting the feds the specific power to regulate immigration is the following. Obama actually has no broken federal immigration laws to pardon since such laws are constitutionally indefensible. In fact, in order to pursue his misguided immigration agenda, lawless Obama must wrongly usurp 10th Amendment-protected state powers to both define illegal immigration, and then pardon people who violate such laws.

H O W E V E R …

The problem with stopping Obama on state power issues is that, regardless that RINOs did well in the Senate in the last election, I don’t think that anybody in DC is ready to admit that the 10th Amendment exists.

All the House needs to do is cut off all money for the Boy Kenyan’s “amnesty” fiasco once the Americans take over the House AND the Senate in January.

I like you, You always give good answers, even though I was being sarcastic with my question. But I agree with what you have said, I just wonder why so few people ever question things of this importance, especially the MEDIA and CONGRESS.
And if they do, they LIE ABOUT HISTORICAL FACT.

Now where exactly is this mysterious document with this supposed 10th Amendment in it?? Does it Really exist? /s
