Obamacare architect Jonathan Gruber said Tuesday that he regrets saying that aspects of Obamacare needed to be concealed from the public due to the stupidity of the American voter. Do you stand by the comments in that video?, MSNBC host Ronan Farrow asked Gruber, referring to a video of Gruber explaining how a lack of transparency helped Obamacare pass into law. The comments in the video were made at an academic conference, Gruber said. I was speaking off the cuff and I basically spoke inappropriately and I regret having made those comments. Farrow then argued on Grubers behalf that

Since he admitted deceiving the public, it is fraud and this one is on a giant scale. Punish him. No way are they going to call what he did legal. Don’t let them off the hook.
Quote from Gruber. (ivory tower)
Prof Gruber
You know, it is so rare that we have a bold idea we can run the experiment on, right? We actually ran the experiment on a theoretical concept. We ivory-tower types come up with concepts like this all the time. Heres one we came up with that we tested, and it worked...
Mr. Gruber, it FAILED.
Gruber is a weasel.
This creepy comic book demonstrates that his comments on the academic panel were not simply off-the-cuff as he stated in his MSNBC interview today, but that he went to enormous effort to create a comic book for stupid Americans. The guy can’t stop lying. One has to wonder if taxpayers weren’t forced to finance this comic book at great expense. Someone should find out how much Gruber was paid to write the comic book and where the money came from.
We should keep this kind of information alive so we can pressure those who would sell their soul can be badgered, and the ones that are tempted can be forewarned.
the fact of the matter is the American voters are stupid....
This guy, Gruber, was involved in a study in Oregon which “lottery” Medicaid benefits which resulted in an increase in mental health.
The Oregon Health Insurance Experiment is a landmark, randomized study of the effect of expanding public health insurance on the health care use, health outcomes, financial strain, and well-being of low-income adults. It represents the first use of a randomized controlled design to evaluate the impact of Medicaid in the United States. Although randomized controlled trials are the gold standard in medical and scientific studies, they are rarely possible in social policy research. In 2008, the state of Oregon drew names by lottery for its Medicaid program for low-income, uninsured adults, generating just such a randomized controlled design. This ongoing study represents a collaborative effort between researchers and the state of Oregon to use this opportunity to learn about the costs and benefits of this expansion of public health insurance.

I’d like to know also about the book.
Like Barack, I don’t think he can help himself. All the interviews he has done over the last 6 years or so, he is deluded with the academic lauding of his intellect.
Here is his thesis from Harvard in 91
Interesting conclusions. Govt. Mandates lower Employee salary and this impacts the lower income worker.
hey no kidding Gruber.

Here is MIT’s video about his book.

Exactly!
oops, linked video from media (via MIT)
He ought to be regretful for his own stupidity - sticking his own foot in his big mouth while knowing that the whole thing is being taped. Dumb a-hole.
“Farrow then argued on Grubers behalf that Grubers argument was more nuanced than people can even appreciate.”
Egghead Farrow thinks we’re stoopid too.
(Unless his comment was more nuanced than we can appreciate as well.)
I’m fed-up with these jacka**es.
If only.
It only gets worse. The guy sees himself as a super-hero. If he’s not locked up for fraud he should be locked up in a mental health facility to deal with his delusions for his own good.
he’s still lying.
he regrets being caught and exposed saying the american people are stupid.
note he didn’t regret lying to the american people about obamacare.
“I Regret Calling American People Stupid”
A hard call actually. Obama was elected with a majority of votes.
How many of his voters could name the 3 branches of government for example? 15% maybe?
