Just because there is a statistical correlation among study participants, does not prove there is a direct cause. There was a study last month that “proved” men who have had at least 20 sex partners have a lower chance of prostate cancer. That correlation does NOT prove that sleeping with 20 women will directly reduce cancer risks but the papers skewed headlines to get more readers.
There are also many studies that show schizophrenics are 2-3 times more likely to smoke cigarettes and their brain scans are different. It does NOT prove cigarettes causes schizophrenia or any brain changes.
There has not been a SINGLE before-after brain scan study showing any long-term difference in pot users. There has not been a SINGLE study of twin humans or animals showing ANY difference at all. Even when subjected to amounts of pot only possible in a lab. The only thing we have are MRI scans showing brains NOW and this does not prove any CHANGE.
IMO, we see the IQ differences in studies because the only people who would admit to using pot for a study are the low paid, low-IQ types. Professionals are often prosecuted for using this plant and do not wish to have a record anywhere admitting to use.

Keep telling yourself that as you light up another doobie. Most of my alcoholic friends don’t have a drinking problem either just ask them.

Even the authors of the article equivocate:
“While previous studies have showed that marijuana causes harm to the brains of animals, researchers said they couldnt be sure whether marijuana use was the cause of the negative changes in the brain.”

The schizophrenics use cigarettes to self medicate themselves. And they may have a case about this as nicotine is being looked at to help mental illnesses.
