I didn’t think the posts applied to all cities, just the ones where low income housing was created. I recall learning in school (60’s) that cities would eventually be black with all white people living in the suburbs. When the cities were trashed the white people would then go back in and buy the slums for nothing and rebuild. Don’t know if the second part is happening.

Just wondering, what about the poor whites?

As the Salvation Army used to say, you can’t take the man out of the slums until you take the slums out of the man.

Section 8 people remain slumdwellers at heart; and their attitudes have to be changed first, before you can move them into the suburbs.

Moving them into the suburbs won’t change them, make them love learning, turn one-parent families into two-parent families, etc.,m anymore than giving them some money or freebees will change them. It just moves them.

“Don’t know if the second part is happening.”

It’s called “gentrification.”
