I know former police officers who tell me part of the problem is young officers coming up are taught very little about the fundamentals of the constitution.

Obviously, that should be a top priority, but instead, they act as if it's not even important.

Does anyone recall a certain story regarding the Apostle Paul?

Subsequent to one of Paul's many arrests, he was casually beaten by a Roman guard.

Paul then informed the guard that he was a Roman citizen, at which point the guard's life was potentially forfeit, due to the fact that he had beaten a Roman citizen without the proper due process.

The same principle should apply nowadays.

Regard for the Constitutional rights of Americans should always be of paramount importance to law enforcement officers, and violation of those rights should bring severe penalties, as opposed to simply a slap on the wrist or nothing at all.

And anybody who's uncomfortable with that, or thinks that routine rudeness and physical or verbal abuse are acceptable, should stay the Hell away from a law enforcement career.

Enough is enough. Cops literally get away with assault and murder on a daily basis.

Make no mistake, if LE examines the Constitution, it is for the purposes of finding a way AROUND it, not for honoring it. Our rights are nothing but in the way to cops. Here we had two cops, not just one, #$@ all over the Constitution.

Take drug dogs. Anyone paying attention knows they are worthless for accuracy. Cops don’t care, so long as it gives them probable cause for a search. They’ll even train the dog to park on a secret command. It is call Trick Pony.

Then there is the recent court case over examining cell phone data without a warrant. Any person seeking to honor the Constitution would understand the privacy issues that raises. Not cops. They fought as hard as they could.

Recently, some cops got caught making illegal searches of homes by pretending they got a 911 call from the address, then needed to do a Safety Check. All BS.

And my favorite. Maybe someone knows the whole story. But I remember there was an East Coast state that somehow came up with the interpretation that Fish and Game officers didn’t need warrants. Yehaww!!! We’ll make all our officers Fish and Game officers. It failed in court of course.

Remember always we are talking about a profession that long ago abandoned any concept of personal honor and integrity, or personal responsibility. Deal with cops from that perspective.
