Curbelo starts off on the right foot on immigration and sharply veers to the left:

Immigration

Our nation like any other nation has the right and the duty to secure its borders. We must know who is coming into and who is leaving our country, and we must insist that all border traffic be legal. The recent influx of unaccompanied children has exposed the challenges we face at the US-Mexico border. This must be addressed. We also have to reform our visa system. Nearly half of all the people living in our country illegally have overstayed their visas. It is unacceptable for a great nation like ours to be incapable of tracking visa holders. Our immigration system also requires an expanded guest worker program to help fill the jobs Americans do not want (especially in agriculture), and an earned path to legalization for the undocumented who have abided by our laws and contributed to our economy. This last cohort must be held accountable for their illegal entry into the country. A fair solution is also warranted for those who were brought to the country by their parents as minors. American meritocracy tells us that these children should not be judged by the actions of their parents.

From here...

Would he be saying the same thing about millions of Poles, Germans, Irish, etc?

Actually we had a mayor from Cutler Ridge in South Dade that beat Curbelo 4:1 here in the Keys in the primaries but lost big time in Dade County. That’s how we got Curbelo.
Actually, The dem Cuban he ran against was a true criminal. So we are getting the best of what there is.
Too many Cubans all voting in lock step.

Lumping six points into one short paragraph is the problem. Individually, each will need to be addressed... eventually, but not now.

Only the first one needs doing immediately and none of the others needs to be discussed until the first one is a fact and not an empty government promise. Once the border is secure the other points can be addressed but not before.

How can the "undocumented" be abiding by our laws when they violated them multiple times. It is illegal for them to work. It is illegal for them to lie on employment forms or use bogus or stolen SSNs. And the list goes on and on.

Curbelo is not on our side.
