Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee, announced Saturday that the party will conduct a full review of its poor performance in recent midterm elections.
In a video posted to YouTube, Wasserman Schultz said Democrats need to examine why their party suffered significant losses this year, costing them control of the Senate, and in 2010, when they lost control of the House. At the same time, Democrats have fared well in presidential election years, winning the White House and making gains in both chambers in 2008 and 2012.
The electoral success we have when our presidential nominee is able to make the case to the country as a whole, doesnt translate in other elections, she said. We are going to look at where we fell short. Were going to identify our mistakes.
The review is similar to the Republican Partys so-called autopsy report after its losses in 2012. That 98-page report identified problems with the partys image among voters and proposed several ideas to give the GOP a leg-up in future elections.
Wasserman Schultz has come under fire this year for her stewardship of the DNC. POLITICO reported in September that there was friction with the White House and congressional leaders, who said they had lost confidence in her as party chair.
Wasserman Schultz said she will name key party stakeholders and experts to a committee that will lead the review, and their report will be ready for the DNCs winter meeting early next year.
Finding real and lasting solutions to our midterm elections issues is critical to the success of the policies we care about, and the long-term strength of our party, she said.
She appeared on Fox the Sunday before the election and I was stunned by her appearance. Someone did their homework and figured out how to do her hair and makeup and got the lighting right. I almost didn’t believe it was her. Until of course she opened her big mouth.
I’m no Democrat, so it’s not my business to tell them who to select. If the circumstances were reversed, there is no way someone in her position would remain in GOP leadership after such a debacle.
I’ll save you the time and trouble, Debbie.
In 2012 you booed God.
In 2014 God booed you.
You lose.
No desire to run your fingers through that hair?
Snaggle Tooth!
Review? you lost because you are all f ups
Carefully parse through the exact words that are used.
Everything about how the Democrats didn’t light off enough bells, whistles, and fireworks to wow the weak-minded.
Nothing about how the policies that they forced down the citizens throat made them sick and hating them.
“It should start with her resignation.”
NO!!!!!!!!
AKA “How Can We Cheat With Greater Efficiency?”
I hope Debbie keeps her position as Dem Chair through 2016. She’s awful!
And, unlike a lot of the RNC chairs, she’s often in the news, so her awfulness helps our cause.
As someone pointed out, they need to first start rthe review with their poor performance from being in office in the first place, but I dont see that happening.
I know.., they didn’t pretend to be conservatives hard enough during the elections. When they show what they are really for, they lose.
Yuk. Bang and Debbie (W.S.) in the same sentence. Now I'll have to skip breakfast.
Who’s the dip in the red shirt and Moonbat smile? That your GF, Debbie? That your shirt she’s wearing ?
Nahhh, I don’t think He’d bother. He just twitched His left pinkie finger just a leeetle bit, and *poof*! Bye-bye ‘Rats!
Yeah ... So much for Chrissy Tingles and a lot of other goofball talking heads who followed Barky to the bitter end.
I don’t think Soetoro is done with us yet, tho’.
I’m sure she has to replace that mirror every time she looks at it in the morning.
Oh okay, I have heard of that goofy lookin’ thing somewhere, sometime but I don’t remember ever seeing him/her/it’s act.
