President Obama chose Loretta Lynch, the U.S. attorney in Brooklyn, N.Y., as his nominee to replace outgoing Attorney General Eric Holder Friday.

Obama plans to announce Lynch’s nomination Saturday at a White House event. If confirmed, Lynch will become the first African-American woman in the job, succeeding Holder, who was the first African-American head of the Justice Department.

[11/08/2014] Microcosm of S.F. housing plight: 6,800 applications for 18 units

When real estate developer Forest City began construction on a new apartment complex at 2175 Market St., it announced that it would build more affordable units than required by the city — 20 percent instead of 12.

The response was overwhelming. Forest City put a booth in the lobby of The Chronicle building — chosen because it is centrally located, near public transit and well-recognized — and got more than 6,800 applications.

this man (or woman) knows what’s going on. Ghetto/Barrio the whole Country, even rural America. Nothing you can do about it.

And listen to those potentially effected state “won’t happen here”. Denial is not just for the left.

I’ve had enough of the Harvard Law graduates....Obama, Bush, all of the current SC Justices, and the list goes on and on.

I like Ted Cruz, and Ben Shapiro, but they do make me nervous with them being Harvard grads. I’m willing to toss in Yale Law and Columbia, too. Frankly I’ve had enough of all of the Ivy League law schools and will toss in Georgetown Law for good measure.

My attitude is: you went to Harvard... you’re out.

FWIW I am a Cornell graduate (MS Physics) and I don’t want any of their law graduates either.

Let’s try somebody from someplace else, anyplace else. They can’t do any worse than what we have had for the last 25 years.

If he wanted her to be confirmed by the end of the year, he should have nominated her when the opening happened.

You don’t wait 4 months and then scream about “quick confirmation”.

Pushing people into cubicles isn’t helping because they are retaining their mobility; when the cubicle storage facility is befouled or too expensive, they up & leave.

The government needs more stability/a more static population. Here in NJ it is impossible to plan anything because municipalities and the state are constantly overestimating their revenues (since productive people and companies are fleeing rather than pay).

Those in areas where “it won’t happen” don’t understand that they are the most desirable targets.
