Your son needs a plan of egress. Other innocents as well. Remember what happened to Reginald Denny. It can be said he drove down the "wrong street at the wrong time." Stopped as well. Big mistake.
Drive the route of exfiltration and have at least one alternative route. Plan ahead and best to him and other decent folks in that area.
