Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.) said on Friday he doesn't think an overhaul of Democratic congressional leadership is necessary after Tuesday's midterms.
But the ranking member of the House Oversight Committee said the party does have a problem with the way it communicates with voters.
"We have to get our messaging right,” he said on MSNBC.
Democrats, he said, should better convey their positions on issues such as raising the minimum wage and reducing student loan debt.
At the same time, he backed Senate Majority Leader Sen. Harry Reid (D-Nev.) and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), who have come under fire for larger-than-expected election losses.
“I’m comfortable with our leadership,” Cummings said.
He also said he was heartened to see that the president had committed to keeping ObamaCare largely intact.
Cummings easily won reelection on Tuesday. Democrats were not so lucky nationally, losing control of the Senate and at least 12 seats in the Republican-controlled House.
Some observers have wondered whether that would lead to a shift in party leadership, but both chambers' top Democrats say they're staying put.
Pelosi announced this week that she will seek another term as leader. Reid did the same.
Its all about messaging with turds like Cummings.
But you know, they never did defend Obama and his signature health care law.
The Democrats spent the entire election hiding from him and running a negative campaign.
Messaging, indeed.
So Elijah is saying the Dems need to change their message from “The Republicans want to re-institute slavery and ban contraceptives” to “Mo free money”
That headline is just creepy...

He’s as dumb as Pelosi and Reid. They’re losers, the lot of them.
The lies in their messaging this time around didn’t cut it so they’ll come up with new ones.
Meaning, we must be telling the same lies or the peeps get confused.
I thought they had a message?
Republicans want to put women in the kitchen, put blacks in chains and fry the planet!
Why didn’t it get Democrats elected? Cummings doesn’t say.
A pleasant thought is imagining Elijah in front of a hard-line federal judge.
I think Pelosi and Reid should stay. It will only help in 2016, IMHO.
I’m glad Cummings is content reporting to two old wealthy white people...
When it comes to lilly-white task-masters, Cummings like them insane.
When someone who’s trying to sell a sh$&%y product blames “messaging” for the lack of customers it can only go down from there.
No amount of messaging will save a bad product.
The Democrats ran on nothing. In a way it was a Seinfeld election.
I believe the definition of stupid is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.

The RATS are in disarray. Sticking with the old party line is like making payments on a car that’s been wrecked. Besides,Reid and Pelosi make a cute couple.
Exactly! Don’t know about the cute but they sure go nicely together, ugly inside and out. :-)
