“A phoney ad hoc attempt to legitimize the Maidan coup which led to Ukie junta taking power.”
There is nothing “ad hoc” about following normal procedure in which Yanukovych verbally announces his decision to resign in a meeting with leaders of the parliament prior to taking the formal document to a session of the full parliament to make the formal announcement as mandated by the constitution. After this meeting in which Yanukovych announced his immediate resignation, Yanukovych was persuaded by his Russian advisers to denounce his resignation, otherwise the Russian Government would refuse to provide him and his family with sanctuary in Russia. So, Yanukovych falsely denied his announced resignation and availed himself of the protection of his Ukrainian and Russian bodyguards to flee anticipated arrest warrants and prosecution for his crimes by accepting his Russian intelligence service handlers’ sanctuary in Russia.
Once again, your use of “Ukie” as a prejudicial perjorative is offensive, and your use of “junta” is a flat out lie. As stated so many times before, you are simply repeating the lie over and over again as disinformation and false propaganda. The Verkhovna Rada (Ukrainian parliament) voted unanimously 328-0 to remove Yanukovych as President due to his incapacity to perform the duties mandated by the constitution. A junta is a group of military officers who have unlawfully seized control of a government to rule by decree and not by legislation enacted by lawfully elected representatives of the citizens. The Verkhovna Rada are the lawfully elected representatives of the citizens of the Ukraine, so they cannot possibly be described as a “junta” as you are falsely doing to wrongfully prejudice public opinion.
Your story makes no sense. If Yanokovich was going to resign the presidency immediately, then it would have been made known to the group of people he was negotiating with and become part of the written agreement they all signed. It wasn't part of the agreement and Yanokovich made no such "announcement".
-btw the term Ukie is common shorthand for Ukrainian and has no negative connotation assigned to it. Likewise, most serious analysis of the Ukie crisis taking place outside the perview of the Obama State Dept. acknowledge the extra-constitutional manner in which Yanokovich was removed from power. The Ukie parliament doesn't have the power to vote him out unilaterally which is part of the reason the 'verbal resignation' story was invented.
