“What portions of Obamacare are you ok with?”
I’m not ok with any of it.
But I’m not going to pretend like sending up a full repeal, just to have it vetoed, just to get everyone on record, is much more than a waste of time.
Like who doesn’t know Democrats all supported it and All the GOP didn’t?
If you are going to do it, at least get something out of it other than restating the obvious.
“Can you pick and chose which portions of the 2000 page bill were perfectly legitimate and ought to remain in effect?”
You can pick the one part that everyone hates, and is the funding mechanism that keeps it alive.
Minimum effort. Maximum impact.
If Obama vetoes it, then he owns it. Any Democrat who doesn’t vote to overturn the veto would own it.
You try to “fix it” and Obama signs off on the “fix”, then YOU own it.
The law in its entirety is unconstitutional. Anyone who took an oath to uphold and defend the constitution has an moral obligation to work to repeal it. Fixing any part of it without first attempting to repeal it does nothing more than legitimize the original legislation.
Do you favor McConnell violating his oath to try to legitimize a wholly unconstitutional robbery of your liberty? Is that the path you really want your representatives to take?
