Looks like the author was going to tell us how many Jewish Republicans are in Congress - but then he failed to write down the number.

Currently, there is one, outgoing Eric Cantor of Virginia. With Zeldon’s victory, there will be one Jewish Republican in Congress again.

“Congress” includes the House and Senate, so Jews are represented about in proportion to their 2% of the population.

Anyone know how many Jewish Republicans are in Congress?

Regrettably, Zeldin will be the only Jewish Republican in the incoming Congress, to the best of my knowledge. That's an improvement over the lame duck Congress, which had none after Eric Cantor's resignation earlier this year. (This marks the first time in many years that there are no Jewish Republicans in Congress.)

Regrettably as well, Zeldin carries a reputation of being a RINO, based on his voting record in the New York state legislature.

But there are many mon-Jewish Republicans in Congress who share a similar ideology and values with Jewish Republicans in general, especially with respect to Israel and the Middle East.
