Rep. John Delaney (D-Md) declared victory Wednesday in an unexpectedly tight race for Marylands 6th Congressional District, while Republican challenger Dan Bongino, trailing by a slender 2,166 votes, maintained that it was to close to call.
In a statement to supporters, Bongino said he will wait until the estimated 5,500 absentee ballots are counted.

Yes, I hope he can squeak out a win. He knows which way the wind blows and would be an asset on many fronts.
“maintained that it was to close to call.”
Yep, even the Post can’t spell’too’.
Not impossible. Depends what kind of voters there filed absentee. Military perhaps? There are enough votes. GO DAN!
One of my Grammar pet peeves.
UPDATE: Appears McSally has won in Arizona to unseat Barber. 100% in and she widened her lead. Another pickup
John Delaney (D-Md): “There are 3504 votes for me in the absentee ballots! I win!”
Reporter: “Sir, the absentee ballots haven’t been opened yet.”
John Delaney (D-Md): “You’re new around here aren’t you...”
I’m with ya. Dan is the man. Read his book. He’s an upstanding guy. The country can use him in Congress.
My Gramps didn't like it, either.
it was to close to call
One of my Grammar pet peeves.
Your grandmother hated that too?
There are still over 70K ballots to examine and count in the AZ-2 race. That outcome isn’t known yet.

It doesn't sound hopeful.
"Maryland State Board of Election figures show that 2,525 of the outstanding ballots are from Democrats, and 2,497 are from Republicans. Bongino would have to win all the Republican ballots and a significant chunk of the Democratic ones in order to pull ahead."
We shall see. Don't particularly trust them.
Damn, and it looked last night that he won..hoping for a miracle..but you know how Dem’s operate, they will find some “Votes” somewhere
Weird. AP has it as 100% reporting with McSally at 50.58% of the vote.
U R two centsitive. JUST KIDDING! Watch Weird Al’s video on this..... You will love it!!!

As a frequently accused spelling nazi, I can reliably state that this is merely a spelling pet peeve.
Classic!
Wonderful link...actually, all the stuff at the end of the linking process, not the link itself, which is merely.....a link.
I’d love to add him, but GOP has several better chances to add seats. 14 races, including his, remain uncalled with 243 called for specific GOP candidates (+14). There’s one undecided race between 2 Republicans (Didier trailing Newhouse) and also one race just between Rats. So really we’re already at 244. Two races in LA go another round, and like their Senate race should go GOP. Of the remaining 10, including Bongino’s race, the GOP currently leads 4 by a minimum of 750 votes, most by over 1%. Two we’re trailing are within 600 votes. All claim to be “100% in” but doubtless are still processing same issues as this race. IIRC, GOP hasn’t held more than 246 seats since before FDR. Probably we’ll get there this time.
That was hilarious, entertaining and educational; thank you for posting it!
