I was really encouraged when Roberts got guys from the GOPe (Jeb Bush, Romney, Dole, Rick Perry) and Tea Party types (Cruz, Palin) to come to Kansas to campaign for him. I think it helped unify the GOP behind Roberts.

And of course, calling 91-year-old WWII veteran Bob Dole a clown had to have hurt Orman. Though some disdain Dole as a compromiser politician, he is widely respected throughout Kansas (and I suspect a lot of other places too).

The Republicans in Maine, including GOPes such as Olympia Snow and the Bushes came out solid behind LePage the Thursday before the election. Christie came up too. And of course the Tea Party types have always been behind him.

I went to an Overland Park rally where the line up was Bob Dole, Mitt Romney, Sam Brownbach, Kevin Yoder. Mitt was really great as expected. This country lost an great opportunity. He would have been a great President. But the star that day was Bob Dole. Very lucid and right on topic. For 92 years young this guy still has his wit and understands the issues. GOD BLESS BOB DOLE.
