Nice. But I still think it’s silly to call him the most powerful man in the country.
Interesting that you know him. Based on what you say I’m going to take a closer look at him, but at the moment I am skeptical of what you write, that his environmental foolishness is merely a press-created amplification. But I’ll take a look.
Certainly it's not accurate - but I would call him one of the most influential if he chooses to be. He's just very selective about where he uses that influence.
Once when I challenged him on the issue of climate change, he told me about all the people he'd discussed it with recently. I was a bit surprised - but then I realised that he can probably phone up virtually anybody in the UK, almost anybody in the Commonwealth, and a fairly large number of people in the rest of the world as well, and they'd at least take his call and talk to him.
I would think there are very few people in the world who would refuse to take his calls!
I wouldn't quite put it that way. I think he's wrong on environmental issues, and I think he goes too far on them at times. But the point I'd make is that's not all he does - and a lot of the other stuff he does gets very little publicity.
For example, he spends a lot more of his time visiting British troops and speaking to them than he does on environmental issues. A lot more.
That’s like calling on crocodiles to stop eating wildebeest. You can’t reason with crocodiles.
Hey Chuck,
please go to the top of Big Ben and jump the hell off.
thus spake Charles as he prepares to become the next king of England - who as a liberal idiot is hardly a voice for Christians
yes, and this
Good to learn that the Royal family has stepped up to rebuke this genocide.
If you know him you also know he is a selfish mean inept moron who wanted to marry his paramour, another selfish mean devious woman. Neither of them has anything to recommend them.
Heh. I was about to quote those exact same words.
It’s true if peaceably = complete subjugation by sword.
Doesn’t work well for me though.

While they are at it, they can quite stoning, raping, mutilating, and beheading their own people.
Why would they listen to him? In the Muslim world, many blame him for causing the death of Dodi Al Fayed and Lady Di.
And the irony of Prince Charles statement is that radical Islam is slowly trying to impose sharia law in the UK. Just yesterday, I read a thread about a Muslim store owner who was sex trafficking run away teenagers.
The Prince of Wales wanted to marry Camilla Parker Bowles at a time when they were both unmarried. If he had been anybody else, he would have married her and she would have married him. But he was told he could not marry her - that if he did so, he would be violating his duty to his people. That she was not suitable. In hindsight, almost everybody agrees that it would have been better if he had married her, but he was in his early 20s at the time, and his parents, his great mentor, the Archbishop in charge of his Church, and large sections of the government including the Prime Minister and members of the Cabinet were telling him not do to it and that it was his fundamental constitutional and religious duty not to do it - the pressure was enormous. Selfish? Exactly the opposite - just like he had virtually every other time in his life - he put duty to his country first, over and above, his own personal happiness.
Eventually he did find somebody he could love - he did love Diana - who was deemed suitable so he married her as quickly as possible, trying to find happiness. Unfortunately, it didn't work out - the major reasons behind that were their difference in age, and the fact that his wife could not find the same dedication to duty that he did - for her that wasn't anywhere near enough. I did not know them very well at that time (I knew the Duke of York better than his brother back then) so I certainly can't say exactly what went wrong with the marriage for certain, and even if I could, I wouldn't. But I believe the Prince remained faithful to his wife for longer than she remained faithful to him. He never stopped loving Camilla - but he didn't have any relationship with her during his marriage, until the Princess had made it clear that the marriage was more or less over.
He's one of the least selfish men I have ever met. The most dedicated to duty I have ever met. As for the idea he's an inept moron - in terms of general competence in life, and in terms of intelligence, he's more or less a pretty average person. He's certainly not a brilliant intellect (although he is extremely well educated) but he's got a decent enough brain. I think his university results pretty accurately assess him on that score. He got a lower second class degree from Cambridge - better than just passing, but not regarded as particularly impressive (you generally need at least an upper second to be regarded as a candidate for post graduate study).
I always appreciate reading your thoughts and views, your perspective is unique and considered. As a Christian and as a human being, I am grateful that Charles is speaking out against the persecution of my coreligionists.
Of course, he will be a prince under Sharia...plus, he gets a flying carpet...
