WHY?...Does Mitch get to be the Senate Majority Leader?

Technically, he doesn't. But from a practical perspective it might actually be the best option.

Depends on whether we can trust Cruz, Lee, Sessions, Paul (on some stuff) and some of the new Senators elected tonight. If I were Cruz, I'd get a coalition together, quietly go to McConnell and threaten to mount an ugly, ugly challenge to his leadership. Unless he came around and played ball.

Cruz has a really good track record (esp for being only 2 years in) for that sort of thing. Ref the gvt shutdown last year.

That would be the worst thing possible, make McConnell the leader and even more hateful of conservatives. He will use all his power to stop conservatives.

We need to start supporting “A”—”one” conservative candidate like yesterday.Cruz would be excellent. We all need to get behind one candidate and make sure he is our nominee or else we will windup with a mitt, jeb or worse christie or something.
