Happy Election Day everyone! I figured I'd go ahead and get the election day thread started. Polls open on the east coast in a little less than an hour.
Please be sure to post observations of interest if you went to the polls today.
The only one I like was the one about Tom Foley and the boat. Boy I wish some days it was summer again and I was in a boat look out to the Sound. :)
Early indicators (rom Rollcall):
7 p.m.
Polls close in: Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, New Hampshire, South Carolina, Vermont and Virginia
Bellwether race: New Hampshires 1st District
Rep. Carol Shea-Porter
If she loses we’re going to rout the Dems.
Georgia: In 2012, Mitt Romney won Gwinnett County with 54 percent of the vote.
Political observers say David Perdue, the GOP nominee, needs to win Gwinnett by that same percentage.
N.C.” When Democrats lose statewide in North Carolina, they usually lose in Guilford. Hagans margins there will be an indicator of how the race is going.
owever, Wake and Mecklenburg are important due to sheer size. Hagan will probably win both of them, but watch for Tillis margins. These are counties where Hagan can run up the score while Tillis scores big in the more rural parts of the state. Political observers say she needs to run up a lead of about a 15 percent or more in those counties. Tillis needs to stay above 43 or 44 percent to hold on.
“I also think that Obama showing up with Hagen means the fix is already in and they will claim Obama saved her bacon.
I really hope I am wrong.”
Exactly my thought and hope.
Thank you for your indifference and your apparent willingness to allow the Democrats an opportunity to snatch victory from the jaw of defeat because the conservatives running are "not pure enough" for you.
Sit home and relax today. Go binge watch Boardwalk Empire while the rest of us do the heavy lifting necessary to try and save our nation from the brink.
<< Little doubt about the outcome in the district, but if turnout at my precinct is any indication, it wont be enough to put Ed Gillespie over the top. >>
Hopefully, the Republicans were all in a very long line at 6:00am when the polls opened.
I agree. Time to retire another so-called dynasty with its eyes on the throne.
We need to retire the Clintons, too. They’re already talking about Chelsea.
Key poll closing times for US Senate:

Georgia 7:00 EST . . . David Perdue (R) - Michelle Nunn (D) - Amanda Swafford (L)
North Carolina 7:30 EST . . . Thom Tillis (R) - Kay Hagan (D)
New Hampshire 7:00 and 8:00 EST . . . Brown (R) - Shaheen (D)
Kansas 8:00 EST (a little bit at 9:00) pm EST . . . Pat Roberts (R) - Greg Orman (I)

Where?
REally, you arent voting? Wow, how incredibly disappointing. I guess you wont be complaining later.
But it is mutual. When “republicans” fully fund the Obama agenda in the lame duck you won’t be complaining either.
GOP apologists will be telling conservatives “we have to get to 60” “we need the WH” while they preemptively surrender to obama (again). What’s good for the goose is good for the gander, FRiend.
I believe as the day progresses...we all will see a record number of Freeper postings on this thread, maybe the largest ever for Free Republic!!! Meanwhile good, folks....get out to polls and vote to destroy both Obama and his entire “Obamabot”, anti-America, Democrat Party!!! Do it...and keep ua all posted, too!!!

Straight ticket GOP.
And finally, they better damn well not push/pass amnesty for illegals and they must block Obama from doing it via executive order.
Obama will do this right after the midterms before the newly elected take office in January. Nothing will be blocked. The only pony in this pile of horsesh*t is that the Dems will own amnesty and the terrible consequences that will follow.
My only fear is that the GOP will use Obama's threat of executive amnesty as the excuse to pass its own version of amnesty as a preemptive measure. If that happens, it is time for a third party,
Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Waxhaw, NC - Vote #133 - More than 2/3rds the voting action compared to 2012. Lotta seniors carpooling.
The prayers of a righteous FReeper avail much.
Thanks. Wasn’t sure, but it sounded like the girl was old enough to vote and someone older was accompanying her. Just a little jumpy about fraud.
For the US House, I can vote for the baby-killing Democrat Congressman, or the baby-killing Democrat challenger. That's right, two democrats!
I guess I have some local offices and state propositions to vote on, but CA has become the dreariest of dreary blues. I now no longer mind the color-switch of the parties in 2000, as "blue" is the best way to describe the state I'm in.
I live in California and I tell you it is a MAZE!!! Sinful and stupid is the word. Headed to vote when polls open at 7am and yes, straight Republican ( holding my nose for Governor however) and NO’s ON ALL Tax increases!
My only fear is that the GOP will use Obama’s threat of executive amnesty as the excuse to pass its own version of amnesty as a preemptive measure. If that happens, it is time for a third party,
1)preemptive surrender lame duck omnibus spending bill
2)sit and watch while executive amnesty happens
3)More Potemkin opposition to Obama from the GOP for next two years
