My CIC was Eisenhower, and things must’ve changed since I put my Ike jacket away. I would not wear it today because I would simply not fit in it, but that’s not the point.

As I remember, officers started wearing chicken droppings on their cap at the rank of bird colonel.

Is this O-4 entitled to have it on his cap? I always thought it looked good.

Yes, he is a field grade officer, a Major of Marines.

Field grade is signified by the droppings and a major is field grade.Field grade is above a captain and below a brigadier general if I recall correctly. O-4 to O-6
