Republicans need to run a presidential candidate in 2016 like a Ted Cruz or a Rand Paul, not a Jeb Bush or a Chris Christie, management guru Jack Welch told CNBC on Monday.
Bush and Christie are "too middle of the road" to win the country, the conservative-leaning Welch said in a "Squawk Box" interviewa day before the 2014 midterm election in which Republicans hope to take control of the Senate.

. They attribute comments like this to the Tea Party, the GOP, Rinos, Conservatives....paint us all with one brush. Yep. What surprised me is this is not one of those 12-16 year members - just from last year. Unless he was banned and re registered....which may be the case - because normally that kind of idiotic phony moralism and logic perversion comes from some of the old bitter coots/hags.
The belief that infidelity is okay is liberal. The participation in it is wrong - but does not mean one necessarily thinks it's okay. I think this concept is addressed in a good book.

What does Jack Welch know about conservatism? Isnt he an adulterer?
Now that is funny. I don’t care who you are. I love humor on FR.

Moronic statement. I guess you didn’t vote for Reagan than?

‘Mitt Romney knows business. Two opposites as it relates to marital fidelity? Likely. But they know how to turn around ailing endeavors.’
Romney left MA in much worse shape than he found it.
I was there. His four yrs as governor were miserable. Keep him away from the WH; the country couldn’t survive a “Massachusetts miracle” [a phrase which should have come equipped wit its own mandatory sarc tag from the moment it was first uttered].

Comments like this are why some people don't take FR seriously any more.
Agreed, and now the discussion is about Jack Wlech whether he is conservative "enough" as if someone offered him up as a candidate.Arguing about whether its okay to have a conservative "adulterer" as a candidate or not is how we end up with Jeb Bush and/or Mitt Romney on the 2016 ballot.<
People who make comments like that are also the same people who sink any attempt to get an actual conservative on the GOP ballot... because they don't just want a conservative, they want a PERFECT conservative, a living saint.
No one is perfect, any candidate will have flaws. But if we can find a candidate who is committed to fiscal conservativism and at least willing to defend the country against further legislative erosions on the social conservativism front, we should be absolutely thrilled.

Reagan? Really? Could be; I don’t know. In any case, the marriage with Jane Wyman was long over before his involvement with Nancy. Also, up until the mid-’60s he was a liberal democrat and married to Nancy. Doubtful that he cheated on her.

Enough name calling and BS. Jack Welch knows business. Mitt Romney knows business. Two opposites as it relates to marital fidelity?
Why in the HELL do you bring up such a LYING, Progressive Liberal loser like Mitt Romney to make your point on a conservative website like FreeRepublic???
Especially when it comes to MARRIAGE?
Mitt Romney single-handedly destroyed marriage by single-handedly implementing Gay Marriage in Massachusetts WITHOUT the Legislature being involved. He is the Father of Gay Marriage in America.
Why you would use such an evil person as an example for any comparison either righteous in nature or even good is beyond me.
WHY?

He echoes one time Texas Ag Commissioner Jim Hightower, a fiery populist.
He was told he needed to be more middle of the road, his response was “There’s nothing in the middle of the road except yellow lines and dead armadillos”.

Jane Wyman divorced Ronald Reagan, and it was not for infidelity. There was not a hint of infidelity and I believe that Ronald Reagan truly loved Jane.

Ha ha. No, don’t misunderstand me. My comment re: Romney was simply meant that the man has, what appears to be at least, an impeccable personal marriage. And he was a successful business man.
Welch obviously had a crappy marriage but was a successful businessman. That’s all. My point was, Welch’s adultery is irrelevant with his prowess as a businessman. And to say he’s not a Consevative because he committed adultery, is silly. I was agreeing with the other poster.
