Acknowledging the admittedly remote risk that I am giving a hostage to fate by writing these words, I note that the implosion of Wendy Daviss ugly and vacuous gubernatorial campaign in Texas has been a satisfying spectacle.

Has Klinton gone there to feel her up? I mean, either of them?

I’m planning to pop the top of a nice cold can of Schadenfreude when I hear this bitch has lost, and another when the one from Wisconsin does.

I have a new favorite writer. He’s right up there a notch or two behind Steyn, but right up there.

After the election, the state Republican party leaders should rub the Democrats nose in it, saying that in the future they should vet their candidates better, so that they do not select any more crazy, racist and offensive people to put on the ballot.
Then at intervals, they should make it a point to remind the public of everything other Democrats said in support of her, and how in doing so they hurt their own credibility.

Saw my very first Dumbass Davis yard sign today. Red, white & blue with her name in small letters towards the bottom, not the sinking ship logo version. The sign looked battered - like her campaign.

I dunno...he spent 1/4 of the article attacking Christine ODonnell. I was unaware that Christine ODonnell was a liberal running for office in 2014...but then, I guess NRO writers like to establish their establishment credentials with every piece.
To: Mr Rogers
I don’t know why he had to give her the back of his hand, the article didn’t gain anything by it. I liked her, it irritates me for Repubs to bash her. Maybe like you say he’s sucking up to the NRO management twerps. The rest of the article was pretty good. He’s a good writer.

Your response makes his point. It is always healthy in all endeavors to be honest with oneself, be it sports or politics. That is if you intend to win. In the bubble thinking only leads to constant defeat. What he was pointing out is that she was a horrible candidate, which was true. He is warning us that it is just not the Democrats who nominate bad candidates, a true statement, backed up with the example of O'Donnell. You see a lot of this, even here, where people have their devotion to certain politicians or even pseudo politicians who would be lucky to crack 42% in any election. But they ignore the facts and flaws and charge ahead anyway.

Don’t you just LOVE the ads for Libby by Konnie Burton? We laugh thru those commercials! EVERY Repub should run ads like that against their Dem opponents. Make them OWN OBAMA!

I have a new favorite writer. Hes right up there a notch or two behind Steyn, but right up there. Good choice. Stevenson is an acute observer of the human condition...and a damn fine writer.
He can't match Steyn's manic humor, but he's good for some large-caliber zingers.
