Pastor, IIRC, the "voice in the wilderness crying 'prepare the way of the Lord'" is a description of St. John the Baptist who, despite being beheaded for it, would gladly and faithfully do it all over again. I am afraid that I lack his moral fortitude but, if such a voice is raised credibly within Christianity today or any time thereafter, would we not welcome the Lord's second coming?

We should live OTOH, as though He will not return at any time in our lifetimes but also as though He were returning today. should we not? No one will know when in advance on the face of this Earth.

In any event, may God continue to bless you and yours!

My use of the John the Baptist analogy had a dual intent.

First was a looking forward to the return of the Lord.

Also, a call to speak the truth aloud and visibly. Perhaps God will grant others to hear.
