America would be all better if we could just stop Joel Osteens happy talk!
I think that was a sarcastic (or ironic) comment. No, I'm not ready to stifle free speech.
The matter rests on whether Osteen claims to be a preacher of the Gospel or not. I've not paid enough attention to know if he's made that claim or has evaded making it.
As a believer in and a follower of the Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God, I sense something is not right with Osteen's overall message.

We’ll, at the end of each televised sermon, Joel invites people to say the sinner’s prayer and accept Jesus as their savior and Lord. He then urges people who did to get into a good Bible-based church. But he has a gorgeous wife, his Mother was miraculously cured of Cancer, and the got that big stadium in a really amazing way. So, there must be something wrong with him because Jesus wants all Christians to really suffer and to be really miserable.
