US President Barack Obama's administration is coping with underwhelming performance on various fronts according to officials cited in the New York Times on Friday, who suggested he may replace some senior administration officials - including US Secretary of State John Kerry.
"There is an inflection point in every presidency, and this certainly is a logical one, if the president feels he might be better served by some replacements on his team, Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, told the paper.
Citing the Ebola crisis in Africa that has spread to a few isolated cases in America under Obama's watch, the rise of Islamic State (ISIS) jihadists in Iraq and Syria, and tensions in Europe between Russia and Ukraine, the paper noted world events have already led Obama to make changes by bringing in Ron Klain to manage Ebola and Gen. John R. Allen to lead the coalition against ISIS.
According to the New York Times, Kerry and US Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel "are struggling to penetrate the tightly knit circle around the president and carve out a place in the administration."

That was quick...
But, wasn’t he in Vietnam?
If Kerry and Hagel are trying to inject some sanity into the White House on Foreign Policy and Defense then they must be kicked to the curb.
The thought of Kerry and Hagel being the relative voice of reason and competence on anything is a scary thought
You are right. The job description for working for “O” is that you must be willing to look totally incompetant with the destructive policies you must carry out. You must be willing to take the hit for the team when the time comes for the blame and you must keep your mouth shut and the SHTF because nobody cares about doing what is in the best interest of the U.S. or Israel.
It has the ring of truth about it, after all. One thing has been consistent about leftists from the reign of terror right on through the purges of the Soviet Union: eventually they will eat their own.
Infinitely more competent, and he knows how to keep his mouth shut.
Why, he’s doing such a fine job?!
But ... but ... but .... they haven’t given him the Nobel Peace Prize yet that he so desired.
Was Blumenthal a Vietnam war veteran? No, but he plays one in the Senate.
I thought maybe they meant Obama would actually replace Kerry as SOS, thereby resigning the Presidency. Biden sucks, but he’d do less harm than this guy.
I still think that reassessment is in order but I do not think that Obama's passive aggressive actions against Israel are in any way in order. Our relationship with Israel is a commitment which must be honored so long as it exists and it must be "honored" in an honorable way. Evidently, Obama is doing neither.
Moreover, the linchpin of danger in the Middle East does not turn on Israel but turns right now on Iran in its acquisition of nuclear weapons and delivery systems. Israel recognizes this threat and Obama is trying his best to deceive the American people while he enables Iran to get the bomb. This will be a strategic disaster for the United States and, of course, for Israel, not to mention for the world. It is an interesting question whether Israel is too "chicken" to bomb Iranian nuclear facilities or whether they have been covertly intimidated out of such an action by the Obama administration. If the later is in fact the case it would be a clear example of Obama's passive aggressive antagonism toward Israel.
It is increasingly clear that Obama not only condones but covertly supports Islam in its war against the West and the West includes Israel as well as the United States. We can only speculate about Obama's motives, but they probably have to do with him detesting America because of its role in frustrating the final victory of utopian socialism. He believes America is the font of evil in the world and the enemy of his enemy is his friend, at least temporarily. It might even be that Obama is a covert Muslim, perhaps of Louis Farrakhan stripe, or some other stripe presently festering in the black "community."
We must also concede the possibility that Obama is simply appeasing Islam because of the color of their skins.
Whatever our future commitments to Israel, they should be openly arrived at and the American people should understand the great costs entailed in supporting Israel, all as outlined by former CIA operative in charge of Osama bin Laden, who specifically cites the American support of Israel and our presence in Arab lands as motivation for Islam's attacks on America. We have to accept that he may be right about this and, so warned, we must knowingly court the terrorism of Islam as the price we pay for our support of Israel. It is one thing to do that consciously and it is quite another thing for the United States to engage in its relationship with Israel because of domestic political considerations and the power of the Israeli lobby with the general public unaware of the price tag attached.
The question is not whether Israel is our friend, the question is where lie America's national interests.
Zippy the Clown for Secretary of State.
He would make more sense than the last two who had the job.
Now we know which unnamed “senior official” referred to Bibi as barnyard offal.
Susan Rice.
Someone should inform Blumenthal that Obama will only replace his egregious morons with still more egregious morons.
Kerry is a moron, but his orders are coming from O’bastard.
O’bastard micro manages everything with his stupid agenda, then tosses the managers under the bus when what he ordered them to do fails.
Dumba$$ Susan Rice gets shuffled from job to job when she screws up, but she is a protected by being a negro.
Israel must not be allowed to go the way of Lebanon. If Israel was Hindu, the Arabs would be at constant war with it. If Israel was Buddhist, the Arabs would be at constant war with it. If Israel was Animist, the Arabs would be at constant war with it.
When one steps back and looks across mohammedom, one sees that wherever mohammedanism meets other belief systems, there is constant conflict.
