DALLAS — A Dallas nurse who recovered from Ebola will soon be reunited with her dog, which has been sequestered since his owner became ill.

The King Charles Cavalier spaniel named Bentley is in quarantine at an abandoned Navy base in Dallas.

His owner, Nina Pham, was diagnosed with Ebola earlier this month. She contracted the virus while caring for a Liberian man, Thomas Eric Duncan, who died Oct. 8.

City spokeswoman Sana Syed said Thursday that the dog has tested negative for Ebola and that his 21-day quarantine — the Ebola incubation period — ends Saturday.

What about this nurse’s boyfriend? There hasn’t been any more news about him.

Whisked off to a government facility, held incommunicado until he "expired"?

Happy for Nina, happy for her dog. I hope the photo of their reuniting is posted, too.

We could all use a lift.

Nine Pham was grace under fire throughout her entire terrible ordeal. I wish her much happiness with her family and with the adorable Bentley.

Good news!
Bring out your dead! The Dark Man cometh! Bring out your dead! The Dark Man cometh! Bring out your......

(Since all records of obama's past were lost in a tragic boating accident and fire, no one can be certain that the guy in the red circle isn't him...)

Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.

The purpose of the “Bring Out Your Dead” ping list (formerly the “Ebola” ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.

So far the false positive rate is 100%.

At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.

*sigh* Such is life, and death...

Ms. Pham is indeed a trooper. She is the only one besides Dr. Brantley and the original nurse diagnosed with Ebola in Liberia whose heroism remains unsullied.

Way too long; poor thing probably felt troubled. No matter how nice the staff, fact remains that he was yanked from seeing his mistress, to having his home space invaded, complete strangers coming in, wearing weird suits and then dragging him out of his home and in a cage with a weird leash.

Then he’s taken to this weird facility and doesn’t have his mistress anywhere, then is videotaped and probably subjected to endless tests and no privacy. Toys, yes, but he’s in this dramatically changed situation. I can’t imagine the fear he might be feeling and I imagine that he’s going to be BONKERS when he’s released and sees his mistress.

I’m not so big on Dr Brantley and the other nurse.

I have a problem that anyone with Ebola was brought into the United States....and that Ebola has entered this country for the first time in human history.

The failure to suspend West African passports and impose a travel ban was downright stupid if not criminal.

I was disappointed in Dr. Brantley when I saw him standing with Obama at that presser.

It is not that I begrudge helping people who have Ebola.

But the help should be sent to West Africa instead of allowing the Ebola to be sent here.
