By teachers on students?
It’s been a while I know but I don’t remember any of these kind of stories pre-1995. Let alone rafts of them.
And remember, it wasn’t all that long ago that giving Lewinskys was the almost exclusive province of porn actresses and certain types of prostitutes. Hence the enormous controversy of Linda Lovelace and “Deep Throat”
Clinton had nothing to do with either students or teachers.
Remember? Lewinskies have never been exclusive to porn or prostitutes. They’ve been around since way before there even was porn, and lots of people enjoy oral sex without prostitutes.
I believe that movie was from the early ‘70s. The only controversy was that porn was starting to go more main stream then, not the act itself.
I don’t claim to understand the mentality that these sorts of people have, but my inner psychologist is thinking about two things:
1) Youth has been elevated to a very high social standing: everyone wants to be young or look young. Maybe having sex with someone underage satisfies this desire.
2) Kids these days aren’t really given an opportunity to grow up. The other day, while at a technology convention, I noticed that we were sharing the meeting facility with some sort of cheerleading competition. There were little girls wandering around dressed like prostitutes.
That’s hardly the only example, of course, but it goes to show that children are exposed to adult topics and pressured to behave as adults from a very young age. Maybe to a warped way of thinking, this qualifies them as adults.
