They were following CDC guidelines as they existed then, if at all possible. The guidelines changed daily. The CDC screwed this one up big, and left hospitals to fend for themselves. Important lesson learned. For the rest of the Ebola outbreak, and whatever else comes our way in the future, we have learned NOT to trust the CDC or any of the PC crap they spew.
The CDC provided MINIMUM guidelines. Nurses at the hospital, by the nurses union’s own admission, considered the classes on Ebola handling optional. Once the CDC found that nurses, and hospitals couldn’t be trusted with minimum guidelines they offered some stricter and more specific guidelines. Again, NOT the CDCs fault.
