I thought he was some crazy person, either plain old crazy, or a jihadi, or some other radical type.

There was a gal who was raped and murdered in Minnesota or some such non-border state by a multi-deported criminal. When that changed nothing I gave up.
Our government is unwilling to protect us from anything. Rapists, murderers, ebola.
