Why are we discussing the mercy rule? It’s a liberal fantasy forced upon our reality. When you play the game, or when you accept the challenge you are then obligated to do your utmost to win the game, or succeed in the challenge. YOU DEFEAT THE OTHER GUY IS THE POINT OF THE GAME, OR THE CHALLENGE. Same in war. Same in politics.
Mercy my a$$!
Isn't that sort of like almost every thread on this forum?
I can recall when I played LL b-ball...we were playing the best team in the league and we didn’t get past the 2nd inning...every player on our team pitched...but we just didn’t have it...eventually time was called as we were supposed to finish by a certain time for the next game.
To this day...I remember we got our a$$es handed to us...49-0.
And the coach was apoplectic...didn’t do much to inspire confidence in the team when he walked out to the mound berating the “pitchers” for pitching like crap...everyone of us got the privelege of experiencing his coaching “style” up close and personal like.
Just this week TCU put up 82 points...yet, the game played on until 60 minutes was up...I hear what you’re saying.
If kids aren’t taught to finish a game at this stage, it’s hard to instill it later on...
