God was angry with Moses, He told Moses to speak to the rock ad therefore they would know God gave them the water...Moses hit the rock, therefore he could take credit for the water. Thats why he was not allowed to enter the promise land...

>> God was angry with Moses

Well, that’s a relief... knowing that, I’ll be sure to patronize the next, deeply inspiring film about a man dressed in leather tights and a cape.

"Smite the Shepherd and the sheep shall scatter".... I believe that the first striking of the rock represented Jesus death on the cross as Jesus is The Rock. Jesus died once for all and said it is finished. Striking the rock over and over was symbolic of crucifying Christ over and over, or at least by your actions trying to.

When someone hasn't come to the knowledge that Christ died once for their sins and His one death is forever sufficient for the work of our salvation they have not come into the Sabbath rest. They haven't spiritually come into the Promised Land. They do not have true peace. They are still striving to know the eternal salvation that comes through faith in Jesus Christ and His completed work of salvation.

Many people are constantly going up to be saved over and over. They think that they can lose and then gain and then lose their salvation over and over. Others think that they constantly need to partake in the actual blood and body of Christ being sacrificed in the "Mass" over and over. None of this is necessary. Christ died for us once and said "It is finished." Now all we can do is accept Jesus and what He, at one point in history, so wonderfully and sacrificially did for us. Now He is risen and sits at the right hand of His Father in heaven.
