We need to provide the persuasion and leadership. Just like in the "women's movement" and the "black movement" the self anointed leaders of the Hispanic movement are just self aggrandizing con artists willing to sell their influence to the highest bidder.
You are absolutely correct about the Hispanics. I said the same thing some time ago and was put down by posters on this thread.
Is this new curriculum going to be taught in English? If so, I would gladly do some editing for you.
Honestly, I became more conservative because of my Latina wife’s conservative political leanings.
It’s worth a shot.
Of course NOT. LOL.
I said the same thing some time ago and was put down by posters on this thread.
If I paid any attention to naysayers, I would not be one of the premiere computer talents in Atlanta. I would never have started writing editorials. I would not have a Ping List.
Don't be scared off by some pixels on a computer screen.
Ok, I get it, you won’t ever try. Can I ask that we make this thread a home for people who WILL try?
That Pew poll says nothing about they voted, just what label they choose to attach to themselves. Lots of idiots vote Democrat and still call themselves “conservative”.
What they call themselves, especially when it’s delusional, matters not at all; how they vote matters more. Who counts the votes matters most.
We’ve heard blather for decades about how [insert minority group here] will start voting Republican as their socio-economic status improves.
If anything, the George Jefferson “movin on up” blacks are more racist than their ghetto counterparts and vote even more Democrat than they did before. This leads to phenomena — completely unpredicted by the blatherers — where ghetto counties like Fulton (Atlanta) actually now vote slightly more Republican as a whole than the nearby comparatively upscale suburban counties, which have now become racist hellholes.
The best bet is to recruit first and second generation Hispanics. I would think that they like the rest of us would want small government.
That's why the Democrats want amnesty. Our current rates of immigration will not swamp us with Democrat voters.
But I do appreciate your effort. Hope it works.
Let us take control of the Senate then start impeachment of the the CIC who is not performing his primary job of border control and enforcing immigration laws (among others). Build the fence and get back to lawful immigration and temporary work visas for temporary jobs — THEN begin debating terms of amnesty for those already here illegally.
We will know that Hispanics have become predominantly conservative when the media gives up treating them like a separate race and instead starts lumping them in with “whites”.
Wow. That has not been my experience at all. The reasons or justifications why may be different, but the results are the same.
Reagan knew about what you did here. They grabbed the Hispanic vote for the GOP.
One thing he used was the Small Business Administration to give out grants to new start ups. Immigrants tend to want to establish their own businesses buy lack the investment funds.
They also made clear that dems were lumping Hispanics racially with the Black welfare/race baiting crowd. Older Hispanics, who have not been brainwashed by libs are not crazy about the hate for power game.
We need ‘Caucus’ thread rules in the News/Activism Forum!
Let us do those things too, while we do this. If we are not successful with the above, we will have some headway made with my idea.
Most won't vote at all. The rest are Democrats. Even without a language barrier getting my friends to vote at all is difficult. Overcoming the anti-Republican bias more so.
Even so, I think your idea has merit. We should try.
I’m in Atlanta. Perhaps you being in LA is a factor. We do have different experiences.
How do you think that government got there? The phrase "Californication" comes to mind.
They vote in a socialist government and move here, then repeat the process.
Democrats are extremely effective at stoking the “hate whitey” impulse, but with Hispanics it is not insurmountable. A recent Texas pill showed that nearly half of Hispanics plan on voting for the republican candidate for governor.
