WASHINGTON It's Nov. 5 and jubilant Republicans have captured the Senate, giving the party control of both chambers of Congress for the last two years of Barack Obama's presidency.
Now what?
The power and agenda in the Senate would shift dramatically. Republicans goals rolling back the Affordable Care Act, approving the Keystone XL pipeline, lowering tax rates and investigating the Obama administration would dominate Senate debate and hearings.
However, Republican control would do little to change the recipe for gridlock. The Republican majority in the Senate would almost certainly be small, well short of the 60 votes required to move any controversial legislation over the objections of the Democratic minority. Polls 10 days before Election Day suggest a GOP majority of about 51 seats.

And a Republican Senate could prevent judicial nominations of more Marxists.
Do nothing........or do something stupid. Hmmmm....I proudly prefer to do nothing.
The MSM is laying down the line that Obama’s being a lame duck is all the GOP’s fault.
What’s wrong with that?
They hate Obama becoming Bush II.
A conservative senate could do that. But a Republican senate would likely do just what the house does, give Jug-ears just about anything he wants.
Well if it doesn’t mean much, why are you writing about it, much less whining about it?
The Republican controlled Congress can pass bills and watch Obama veto them.
After a couple of hundred vetoes, people (LIVs) may start the wonder WTF is wrong with Obama.
Little progress...
Towards destroying the country
Let him veto.
He can preserve Obamacare as a millstone around Hilary’s neck for 2016.
You know he’ll do it.
a republican senate would have republican committee chairs.
These committees could hold more effective investigations into
all of 0’s dealings. I would like see some dems do some jail time.
At the top of the list would be where did all of the stimulus money go?
“Little progress” = leftist agenda slowed down, but not stopped or reversed.
Hey..posting this type of good news gets the doom and gloom crowd really grumpy.
A political crash cart is needed to revive the fast flat-lining White House prospects.
A smart GOP would present its 2016 platform as a series of popular bills vetoed by Zero. A bunch of good paychecks never paid because of Obama. That requires both houses and some real leadership.
Fingers crossed.
The only woman ever to escape from Ted Bundy was a teeny little whisp of a thing, who fought like hell and wouldn’t let herself be frightened into submitting. She was arguably the proximate cause of his being captured and brought to justice.
Oh good heavens it would be wrong for elected officials put in office to oppose Obama to be "adversarial." How much better it would be if these newly elected Republicans put in the majority ignore the will of the people and behave "responsibly." Why would it not be more "responsible" for Obama to resign in order to avoid the deadlock in government which this author so abhors?
GOP Senate would mean more clashes with Obama...
...less regress.
Fixed.
