The principal and the cops knew this. Hell, some of them where on gun racks in the back window of the pickups. There was not one incidence of the use of a firearm that was illegal or wrong.

I grew up in a very small town in Iowa. I was probably 13 or so and took my shotgun to school because I was to go hunting with a buddy after classes got out. I even took the shotgun on the bus! This would have been about 77’ or 78’.

Small town in Illinois here. A kid wanted to make a nice case for his dad’s S&W in shop class. His mom brought it to school and the teacher made all the proper measurements then it went home. Nobody thought of it as anything but a kid making something nice for his dad. Hmmmmm, the kid had a real mom and dad. I wonder if that made a difference?
