This is an important revelation because now VJ can be subpoenaed to appear to give account for the actions taken to buttress what became an AG held in contempt of Congress, who is also the subject of lawsuits which will follow him into private life.
It's not over for Holder just because he is leaving the Administration and it may only just be beginning for VJ.
Discovery takes time and favorable rulings from the Federal bench in these suits had to transpire to make Obama start to cough up the kind of information that can ensnare him. VJ is the real "one-heartbeat-away" from what can do serious damage to the White House. I agree with you: I think Gohmert knows the significance of this kind of thing in ways we don't.
We should be celebrating this event, not competing to see who's attempting to buck up their perceived comparative importance by whining the loudest about the supposed futility of it all (while all the Obama trolls lurking at this site just sit back and laugh at all of them.)
