It seems to me that the risk of electronics fouling up outweighs the risk of an officer having his gun taken from his holster. That yoyo in Missouri was unsuccessful, primarily because there are safety mechanisms in holsters that make it fairly difficult to pull the weapon out from the wrong angle.

Another cure looking for a disease. Only in California...

This technology only reports gun status. If it ‘fouls up’ it does not affect the function of the gun.
