Kansas City is in Missouri. He would be perfectly safe in most of Kansas. Well then, there is Wyandotte County, Kansas. Not safe for him there. Still. I don’t like that he has gone to ground. Makes him look a) guilty b) cowardly.
At the time of the Bob Dole run for Pres. Wichita, KS had more gang members per capita than any other comparable size city in America.
Keep in mind that he’s still a cop, and subject to the orders of his superiors.
The trap that a lot of people keep falling into, I think, is believing that if he comes out, tells his story, people will react to it thoughtfully and reasonably, and will respond appropriately.
Thats overlooking that the protests/riots are deliberate agitation to achieve defined political goals. Iow there’s no reasoning with them - they don’t really care about facts, just about how perception and past grievances can be leveraged for political gain.
There’s no real way to argue with that, because the other side just isn’t listening and is completely unwilling to.
