It’s probable that all the stuff being subpoenaed is public on websites anyhow. This is just a big political stunt.
However, it might be nice just to give her every single solitary sermon, stating that the criteria are impossibly subjective anyhow. Make them listen to all of it if they really want it.

I’d be worried that that would be indeed accepting the precedent she’s trying to set that she can do this.

The city is seeking information from just five pastors who were at the forefront of
organizing the petition drive: Pastor Hernan Castano, Ms. Magda Hermida,
Pastor Khan Huynh, Pastor Steve Riggle and Pastor David Welch. The revised
subpoenas now call for all speeches or presentations related to HERO or
the petition prepared by, delivered by, revised by or approved by them
or in their possession.

The precedent I’d look at is the one that says if you are compelled to go one mile, go two.
The bible never got erased by modern political philosophizing.

She’d crowdfund it like they did Gov. Palin’s e-mails.

It also says to render unto Caesar, what is Caesar’s and unto God, what is God’s. Vetting the preaching of the Word does not fall under Caesar.

It’s exceedingly unlikely any were “stupid” enough to push for signatures in sermons, even though it would still require formal involvement of the IRS before it could have any actual consequences. (The city can’t do squat but scream to the IRS.)
I see desperation, grasping for straws. Against these pastors who are harmless as doves but shrewd as serpents.

Who says anything about vetting? That’s your spin on it.

What need has the City of Houston to see the sermons of Christian preachers other than to try to use them against the pastors and/or churches? That’s what this is about. If they are just curious, they can go listen to them.

And again that is diluting the bible with worldly philosophy. Christ never preached in such an attitude.
I’d say hey folks if you want gospel here it is. Till it comes out your ears.

So that the Houston government can then use their words to try to shut them down or censor them?

Oh, my, gospel does that ALL THE TIME if preached in sincerity. What do you mean, repent and love God or go to hell?

Nope... coyness is not part of gospel DNA.

Yes it does. Houston wants to shut it down, using the cooperation of the very pastors it wants to censor.

Oh wow, then John the Baptist should have pleaded silence?
That might have gotten the king to let him go.
