Every airline passenger who arrives in the United States from one of the three West African nations hardest hit by Ebola will be monitored by state and local health authorities for 21 days, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Wednesday.
...
The burden of monitoring will fall to state and local health officials, who have legal authority to control infectious disease, Frieden said.
...
"What a logistical nightmare," said John Connor, an associate professor of microbiology at Boston University and an investigator with the university'a National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories....

Sounds more like a threat from 'soon to be thugs' than a public health policy. We know these people - they don't give a damn about the citizens of the United States. If they gave a damn they would STOP people from the hot zones from coming here until the African epidemic was over. Eff you Frieden and the horse you rode in on....

What is your point?
They EMBARK on their journey ABROAD
The DIS-EMBARK-HERE!
What does that have to do with my post?
Monitored? While they attend the Alabama/Auburn game, tour NYC, shop at busy malls, travel on crowded busses and subways or take a cruise?
BO, the revenge president.
The 21 day monitoring is no monitoring at all: Identified at risk people are given a thermometer and asked to report their temps. Not kidding. That’s it. That is Obama’s means of “monitoring”.
Obama isn't taking blood samples for verification of the disease.
Obama isn't closing the border to those from infected countries.
Obama won't quarantine foreigners suspected to be infected.
Put the burden of detection and quarantine, etc ., at the EMBARKATION point!
No kidding, the magnitude of doing it here is unmanageable and would cost us billions, this would take massive housing resources and expensive, pension laden manpower.
The first three weeks of your American vacation is on the house, paid for entirely by the taxpayers?
And what treatment do you receive while being housed by us medical, dental, special diet, insulin medicine, diapers and laundry service?
That suggests you think we should examine them here and care for them once they arrive.
I AM SAYING-
They should never leave their home countries IF they are ill.
THEIR own country of origin (FROM WHICH they EMBARK) should assume the responsibility AND expense of monitoring WHO EMBARKS for a journey anywhere!!
THEN
anyone who arrives here will have been checked at the expense of THEIR OWN home government...
THEN they can DISEMBARK in the US
It seemed like you confused embark and disembark . That changes the whole meaning of what I said.
Man are you confused, do you think that I first agreed with you and then started speaking as though I live in Liberia when I say “here” “we”?
“No kidding, the magnitude of doing it here is unmanageable and would cost us billions”
Thanks for the ping!
