Exclusive -- Donald Trump to Mitt Romney: Don't Even Think About Running Again

(VIDEO-AT-LINK)

Real estate mogul and conservative provocateur Donald Trump has a concise, clear message for 2012 GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney: You “blew it” in the last election, so don’t even try to run for president again.

“No. I don’t think he should run. He had his chance and he blew it,” Trump told Breitbart News during a phone interview on Tuesday. “He had a great chance of winning. He should have won. That was an election that frankly should have been a much easier election than the probable 2016 candidate Hillary. That was an election that should have been won by the Republicans."

"Whether it was his consultants, I read all different concepts. I’ve read all different views on what happened. But whether it was him or his consultants, he blew it," he continued. "He had a tremendous advantage against a president who had done very poorly and now has done worse, and that was really a race that was easier than beating Hillary.”

Trump said he carried that message—that Romney shouldn’t run again—to Iowa last weekend when he campaigned for and raised funds for Iowa’s Rep. Steve King (R-IA) and his re-election campaign.

“They did close to $100,000 and I’m really happy about that,” Trump said of the King fundraiser. “Steve King is a terrific guy. I got to know Steve when I was in New Hampshire and making a speech. He was there and I love him. He and I just hit it off. He’s someone I respect. He and I have similar views on many different subjects. He’s somebody who really loves the country."(continued)

Crabs in a kettle dragging escapees back to their death.

Not for me thanks. I’ll stand on the counter and toss’em a line. If they don’t take it, Screw’em. They’ll go good with a side of fries. But I’ll be damned if I let them ‘kill off’ anyone that wants out.

Sad truth that is. But it IS the truth.

We will demand a conservative. No rinos

Demand all you want, that means nothing!

You need to make sure an electable conservative makes it all the way through the all the primaries, beating down the RINO candidate.

"Thank God we didn’t elect Romney. Imagine how terrible this country would be. We got what we asked for."

So you think we are better off with obama than Romney? In what ways would our country be worse off with Romney than now?

Another possibility is the GOPe is merely playing the part of the opposition and they win when they lose as much as when they actually win.

This is, I think, the explanation that most fits the facts.
Even the highly incompetent, backed by some enthusiasm, would have gotten something done with all the items that've come to light — Fast & Furious, Benghazi, the IRS's political targeting, the NSA's domestic spying, the high unpopularity of Obamacare, etc — coupled with the open hostility of the Tea Party candidates, it shows that what they say and their true goals are utterly different.

That they are really aligned with the socialist/statist ideologies, and therefore have no interest in reducing or repudiating the power of the government, is the theory of best fit.

In what ways would our country be worse off with Romney than now?

One way would be if he'd followed through with what all his cheerleaders said he would do: issue obamacare exemptions to the states.
That would be disastrous because then the office of the President has a very easy extortion tool at his disposal:
That's a nice exemption you have there… it'd be a pity if something were to happen to it.

I have a hunch ladylane is being sarcastic.

However, in what ways would our country be worse off with Romney than now?

Well, we'd have voted, against our will and against our intentions, FOR the Republican party to push pretty much Obama's whole agenda, from health care to gay "rights" to on-demand abortion to environmentalism, and as for foreign relations or commander in chief, a president with ZIP ZERO ZILCH history or background of military service -- Romney's family for generations has scrupulously avoided it.

We'd have voted FOR all that in order to vote "against" Obama. That was the option to Obama, what a laugh. They don't call it the "stupid party" for nothing.

I’m no fan of Romney, but how did a sleazy, attention-seeking clown like Donald Trump come to be trendsetter, spokesman, and kingmaker for the Republican party?

Did you see Alfred Hitchcock's Saboteur (1942) on TCM earlier this week?

Very entertaining and still very relevant. This mini-rant by the evil Charles Tobin had me thinking how little things have changed:

You're one of the ardent believers - a good American. Oh, there are millions like you. People who play along, without asking questions. I hate to use the word stupid, but it seems to be the only one that applies. The great masses, the moron millions.

Well, there are a few of us unwilling to troop along... a few of us who are clever enough to see that there's much more to be done than just live small complacent lives, a few of us in America who desire a more profitable type of government. When you think about it, Mr. Kane, the competence of totalitarian nations is much higher than ours. They get things done.

See what I mean?

I’d rather see Trump run for the office. He be a winner.

I keep getting these “prefer” surveys from the RNC——I always write in Cruz/ Palin. I also always write in “whenever you publish a platform I’ll send some money.” No one ever answers. No money gets sent. The RNC bunch is about as brain dead as dead can get. You’d think the sound of easy money would motivate SOMEBODY on the top floor?

You were our nominee. And you lost.

Romney you lost. However you could work to bring back American businesses. That would be a good thing for you to work on.

</facepalm>

What’s the track record of candidates we’ve had to hold our noses to vote for, so as not to be overpowered by the stench of Rinocrat?

1992...HW pi$$ed away a Desert Storm approval rating, lost to Bubba..."Read my lips..."

1996...Bob Dole, famously tagged as the tax collector for the welfare state.

2008...John McCain...first to go nuclear on fellow Repubs, but famously said we need not fear a Barack “no middle name” Obama presidency.

2012...Mitt Romney...again went nuclear on fellow Repubs, went limp on Obama.

Those who say we need to hold our noses and vote for the Rinocrat need to show when that’s been a successful strategy.””

A nod to FReeper gogeo.

The editor in me couldn't resist.
