I had thought the right to gun ownership had been severely restricted in Canada, with private ownership a virtual impossibility if you did not have a legacy authorization. Keep in mind, there is nothing like a “Second Amendment” right to keep and bear arms north of the border, and even those who have a legal right now could very well, and soon, have that stripped away.

How could a crazy person even gain access to guns when the trade in them is so severely restricted? Do the gun control laws not work in Canada? (Do I have to include the < /sarcasm > tag, still?)

They allow hunting rifles.

I have people that report to me working in Ottawa, along with my superiors. One comment from them, “hard to go on a rampage with a hunting rifle”. Really? With a scope and semi-auto capability?

I’m sure the first thing will be a call for “tougher gun regulations”. Canadian’s are like Europeans in this respect.
