People put a lot more stock in debates than they deserve, but politicians skip them at their peril. It’s a sign of weakness and Tillis will pounce if he has any sense at all. Blacks could care less about any of this, they will only turn out if a well organized effort puts money in their pockets and gets them to the polls, preferable more than once.

Most of us on the NC forum aren't certain that he does. He apparently was a decent state legislator. But, whoever is responsible for coaching him and producing his political ads has bee very timid. He's perceived as one of Karl Rove's candidates. I'll vote for him just so I won't have to hear Hagan screeching anymore.

Agree with your analysis. Could Tillis pretty much say what he wants at this debate. Since Hagen didn’t show up, Tillis should capitalize. He does get a few minutes to make a statement, I believe. Hagen is holding on for dearlife. Too much bad news lately and now she shot herself in the foot with the lynching ads.
