To me it’s clearly stated by Noah that the rainbow signified God’s promise to man that God would never again use a global flood to wipe mankind off the earth.
I John 1:5 Says that God is light. The part of God that we can see is Christ and the Part of light that we can see is the rainbow. You can substitute Christ for he word bow in Genesis 1:16
