I keep reading replies discussing how America is doing this.... You guys do realize that this is in Australia, right? I’m not saying it couldn’t happen here. Surprised it hasn’t to be honest. But all this “baa baa African American” and such... ummm... not on our soil this time. Good ole Australians.

I’ve seen articles where a black person who’s never set foot in America is called “African-American.” There are spell-checkers that will automatically change the word “black” so that you see articles about fashion shows describing an “African-American dress.” So even though this is taking place in Australia, jokes about “African-American” are sadly apropos.
