A Norwegian woman who contracted the Ebola virus while working for Doctors Without Borders in Sierra Leone was cured and released from an isolation unit Monday.
"Today I am in good health and am no longer contagious," Silje Lehne Michalsen told reporters just minutes after Oslo University Hospital announced she had recovered.
"I feel very lucky and actually it doesn't feel like I have had Ebola," the 30-year old medical charity worker added with a smile as she hugged one of the medical staff.
She had been kept in an isolation ward since her repatriation from Sierra Leon and given an experimental treatment. The medical team did not disclose details of the treatment.
Michalsen was infected with the deadly virus which has claimed more than 4,500 lives when she was working in Sierra Leone's second city Bo.

What about that story of 9 of 16 “Doctors without Borders” have died from Ebola.
Any idea where the doctors that died hailed from?
We don’t have to worry at all. Tobacco has been slammed by liberals and it is/was Tobacco all along that held the cure for what ails us all. Heck, in Honor of Tobacco, I think a statue of Tobacco should be erected in front of every hospital. ‘Smoke for your health’ should read the inscription underneath the Tobacco Statue!
“Assuming Ken Alibek is correct.”
Yeah, I read his book. I don’t even want to think about weaponized Smallpox.
smoking it isn’t the cure for anything
But what if it is?
New motto ... Three Packs of cigarettes a Day keep the ebolans away?
I wouldn’t smoke to save my life. ever.

Am so old ... How old am I? Well, I remember when Johnny Carson smoked on his late night show before Johnny too was PCed. Johnny never caught the ebola. There might be something to Tobacco and Good Health. But I do not know. Am not a medical practitioner but my doctor hates Tobacco and he might be pushing pills and not wanting to share the cure. My doctor likes my Better Half better than me but she takes a line of pills (everyday). I take four and two are vitamins. What if I’m the healthy one? Would galled my doctor to death if he had to take up smoking. I am in better health than my doctor (true). Am older than he is (true). Not better looking than my doctor just healthier. Am going to recommend Tobacco to my doctor just to see his face turn red ... and then follow it up with ... Doc, it will improve your health and fight off the ebolans! His face will explode. Always love that ... the exploding part.
Well, that and the ZMapp treatment she received that Duncan was told was ‘unavailable’.
Not too hard to understand:

“Norway to get world’s last dose of Ebola cure”
A steady one week diet of lutefisk, is the answer!! With butter!
LOL
Wait just a minute. I thought there were 3 doses. Brantly got the first and Writebol got the other two and that was the end of it. But then there’s this - http://www.cnn.com/2014/08/21/health/ebola-treatment-drug/index.html saying another one was sent to the Spanish priest who may or may not have lived long enough for it and 3 Liberians who got it. Just how many doses are there?
How come the Norwegian says she doesn’t feel like she ever had Ebola after barely two weeks of being admitted to the hospital but Brantly is still weak and recovering slowly?
There are apparently enough doses for the ‘right sort of people’. If you’re not that sort, then you’re SOL.
I’m glad she recovered. But I feel the same way about the merry-go-round of spin.
How many Africans did Norway take in?
They are not eating bat meat and BUSHMEAT!!!! Like skinned monkeys
Well, there is that. OTOH, maybe now Norway will become the destination of choice for Liberians who know they've been exposed to Ebola.
