Your comment made me curious so I looked up the answer. I was very surprised to find that it is someone I went to high school with. I have only a vague notion of his career since then, so my comment is based on how I remember him. Rather than being a mentally challenged idiot he seemed more like a genius. I remember him as being extremely intelligent, talented, and entertaining and also a very friendly and nice person.

You may be familiar with the expression that more often than not there is a fine line between being a genius and an idiot. When those two traits merge, what happens from time to time, the result may be such garbage.
