I usually never listen to talk radio. I have been listening a lot since the ebola issue came about. So, with limited exposure I make this comment: Everyone on talk radio is rude. They are smart. But they are rude. Rude to callers. Rude about everybody but themselves. Sure they like some people. But they are often rude even about the people they like.
Don’t get me wrong. I am thankful for talk radio. But it is hard for me to listen to some nervous caller get ripped apart just because he is having trouble making his point.
I think rude sells and they have a lot of time to fill. If they do not get people riled up then people might switch stations.
You are FOS.
In 20 years of listening, I have never heard Rush be rude to any caller.
I don’t need an echo chamber, and I already have direct access to virtually all the same material any of the talkers prep with. Rush is smart and articulate and often provides an interesting slant on things, and is a good spokesman for conservatism in the Bill Buckley tradition. So he’s often worth listening to for part of the first hour, where he’ll cover his best stuff. The rest are boring, uninteresting, and yes, rude, and I won’t miss any of them as they finally disappear. Hannity is a true idiot, Levin’s voice is like nails on a chalkboard, and Savage is the worst.
If conservative radio’s not your thing - turn off the radio...
