Uh huh, and if you use a modern .45 ACP how do you beat it's expansion? If you want to stop someone, sometimes bigger is better, though I am a stick in the mud with a Browning Hi Power in 9mm, old design that can handle just about anything.

This means that a 9mm bullet (.355) actually expands to .5325 ,larger than 45 ACP. You must be assuming that you get no expansion from .45. I can assure you that there is .45 ammo that expands quite a lot, way bigger than 9mm.
