good post. I have all manner of handguns and the only ones that work are the ones you have on you when you need it. I’d go out on a limb and say my 1911’s are the best handguns I own with the most reasonable cartridge for the job. Then you would catch me carrying a Ruger LCR .357 because a 5 pound 1911 just isn’t reasonable in most situations outside open carry or the car glove box. I even have a Para Slim Hawg .45 and I can’t keep my pants pulled up when I try to carry the thing. The big stuff isn’t comfortable and I tend to dread taking it with me... that’s why I stopped resisting and went with the light weight wheel gun. In fact, it’s such a good defensive fit, my wife got one for Christmas in .38 spcl. the best gun is reliable and in your possession when you need it.
My regular everyday weapon is a single action Para-Ordanance P-12 .45cal.....
It has a alloy frame and is fairly light and small...
Single action .45’s require a higher degree of training to carry in a “ready to go mode” as compared to other platforms....
My wife has a lightweight .38 wheelgun as her carry weapon.... each fits a specific need.... her weapon is easy to use, will never jam or misfire.... it only has 5 rounds though..
