>> “cant they just use a wrench and tap the SOS on the hull?” <<
If you were at the bottom of the ocean in a rusty tank, would you be tapping on the sides?

“well 20 years later it turned out that sub DID have nuclear weapons on board and they DID target a city during that emergency.”
Any info where to read about that?
Was orgiianl you see on MHZ worldview network I think I remember that episode
The Swedes have been putting out anti sub mines in their waters. They sit on the bottom. If a Swedish or NATO sub comes along they ping it with the code and nothing happens if you don’t have the code it activates and comes after you.
“Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing.”

I do enjoy cabbage (kimchi,kraut,slaw...)
Some of us need a bit more stimulus.
Thank you cabbage farmers everywhere!
We need to knock another $40 or $50 off the price of that oil!!
All you need are simple sugars and yeast. with grain, the yeast cultures convert starches into sugars and then alcohol. If you have sugar then you’re cutting out a step. Case in point: i live in sugar beet country. People will sometimes make a kind of beet moonshine. It’s clear and mostly tasteless from what I hear (i haven’t found anyone willing to give me any yet). potatoes are a popular choice for hooch as well.

“A de-crypted frequency?
Is that anything like a ‘flux capacitor’?”
Silly question.
It’s the one that Kenneth uses.
There was a Russian submarine years ago that couldn’t surface and settled on the ocean floor. Russia denied it until it was too late, rebuffing all offers of help. All the men perished, slowly suffocating to death.
Maybe the crew was watching the movie Das Boot and got distracted.
Yes it was. Swedish series tend to be fairly depressing most of the time without the “je ne sais quoi” of either the French or Italian shows. Heck even the Finns and Germans have a much better sense of wry humor in amongst all the crime.
Never has been. You could always spot a Soviet submariner by the fact he was bald and sterile.
Sub was the Kursk which sank back in 2000. Most of here were cheering reports that some crewmen could have been rescued but those turned out to be BS.
"Andrei, you've lost another submarine?"
If your scenario is correct the sub wouldn’t have gotten far from where it was observed: wouldn’t the Swedes have found it by now?
K9s brought in to find crew people on the loose on the islands in the swedish archipelago.
The truth? I do not know.
Yup
, Swedish media report that the swedish police are active in the archipelagos with K9s
Yeah for while I think still on they showing Wallander the Swede version on MHZ worldview internantioal mysteries series usually on Sunday night
