Down here in Galveston County, my neighbors are getting concerned and have called to ask about precautions. I worked at UTMB and part of my job was to monitor protocols at the Galveston National Lab Biosafety Lab Level 4.

While I never entered the containment area, I did observe from just outside the containment area. My job was to observe and make sure safety protocols were being followed. Based upon the information I had, I don't believe the public is being told the truth about this outbreak. We treated it as if it were an airborne pathogen and Ebola Reston strain did go airborne.

At this point, I would have on hand a case of sterile gloves, shoe covers, gowns and a proper respirator mask for each member of the household, boxes of N95 viral masks, bleach for disinfecting and insist that nobody comes in without gloving up, putting on a mask and taking their shoes off before entering - shoes remain outside.

Food and water should be put by in case of quarantine and an eye towards hardening your home for safety and security purposes. Sheets of plastic and duct tape should be considered for doors and windows to be secured from the inside. Since I live about 40 miles inland, I have 5/8" lexan storm windows on the house and storm doors.

Prepare as best you can and hope for the best. It is evident that Obama doesn't have much interest in protecting the American public, so we will have to do it ourselves.

My 18 yr old son is in college in Tyler TX, my whole family lives in northern TX, is it time to pull him out and bring him to Northern Mi where we now live? Getting accurate information is near impossible - even my brother in law who flys a medivac helo out of Mineral Wells has no clue.
